Add points to a finished sweep
A finished sweep leaves its decomposed mesh and one set of converged fields per point. submit_sweep can start a new job from them, so a gap in a polar is filled on the identical mesh without meshing again.
Find the starting point
Section titled “Find the starting point”job_status on the finished sweep lists its points with start and end. Pick the point nearest the angles you want; its end is the time level whose fields the new job starts from.
points: a6.7 0-620, a4 620-1280, a0 1280-2080, a-4 2080-2880, a-8 2880-3680, a8 3680-4480, a11 4480-5280, a14 5280-6080To fill in 9.5 and 10 degrees, start from alpha 8, whose fields end at 4480.
Submit
Section titled “Submit”submit_sweep({ "from_job": "flight-sweep-fine-087a44e8", "start_time": 4480, "points": [{"alpha": 9.5}, {"alpha": 10}], "iters_per_point": 800, "stop": "watcher"})The new job copies processor*/constant (the mesh) and only the 4480 time level, so it is a gigabyte rather than the finished sweep’s 18, and the submit returns in seconds. Its steps start at setPoint0: there is no blockMesh, decomposePar or snappyHexMesh. The new points are numbered 0 and 1 in the new job, and the job keeps the source job’s case name.
Leave out start_time and it starts from the latest level, which for a sweep is its last point.
Refusals
Section titled “Refusals”| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
from_job_missing |
no job by that id on this server |
from_job_running |
the source job has not finished; wait for it |
from_job_no_mesh |
the source job has no mesh to reuse |
start_time_missing |
that time level is not in the source job; check job_status points |
